Today, Katharine Pratt Horton Buffalo Chapter of the NSDAR supports many national and state DAR projects. Our chapter contributes as follows:
- Contributes to DAR Schools, Veteran programs, and historic preservation projects
- Maintains two scholarships at the University at Buffalo
Most of the DAR’s volunteer work is accomplished though a committee system. Our chapter’s committees are active in the community. Here are some examples. Committee members:
- Attend local naturalization ceremonies
- Promotes literacy
- Promote good citizenship
- Help support our soldiers and veterans
Other chapter committees are active in preserving the Birge-Horton House, our historic chapter house, and its collection of Pratt/Horton art work, books, papers, and clothing.
